If visiting the Library for the first time, check our Admissions page to see what you will need to bring with you in order to request a reader's card.
Please show your valid reader's card at the main Reception desk each time you enter the Library. You should also sign the visitors’ book when you first arrive.
Large suitcases, holdalls and rucksacks are not permitted in the Library. Bags must be small enough to fit into a Warburg Institute locker (41 x 24 x 42 cm). There are left luggage facilities at Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras International rail stations where larger luggage may be stored while you visit the Library.
Valuable items should not be left unattended in the Library, and the Warburg Institute accepts no responsibility if such items are damaged or stolen while in the Library. Bags and other items may be left in the lockers provided. Lockers require a £1 coin, which is returned when the locker is re-opened.
A buzzer is sounded 20 minutes and 10 minutes before closing time. Please ensure that you have completed any printing, copying, or other Library business in order to leave promptly at closing time.
Upon leaving, all readers are asked to show their bags at Reception. The Library is a reference-only collection and borrowing is not permitted.
